Hello!!! Sorry it is so hard to keep up with this blog but paying for internet by the minute makes it hard to update this thing. But we had our first adventure, we went to Phillips island and the Wildlife Park. The bus took about an hour to get to the park but it was fun watching everything. We had the most amazing time at the park, we saw Tasmanian devils, dingos, koalas, etc. We held snakes, at first I thought I would be fine but then the boa's tongue touched my back and I freaked! I practically throw the snake off me, wait for the funny pictures later! Lol. Then we feed wallabies, they ate right out of our hands 😊 Then we drove another hour in the bus to Phillips Island to see the Furry Penguins. Stupidly we went in our shorts and t-shirts but by the time the penguins came out it was 10pm and about 60 outside. At 10pm hundreds of small penguins wobbled out of the ocean to their nests to feed their babies. The stadium seating didn't offer too much of a view but you could still make them out. The best part came when you walked around the boardwalks and watched them outside their nests. They are by far the cutest things I have ever seen, and the fat ones are definately the cutest!!! The day was exhausting but amazing.

We also got the chance to see the Victorian Market which was awesome. Its an indoor market (fresh meats- including Kangaroo, cheese, bakery, vegs, fruit, flex market, etc). There was live music, wonderful food and fun shops. The only downside was the 34 C weather but we ad to make do. We also went down to the river and to the tallest building to see all of Melbourne. That night we had out first night out in Melbourne which was so much fun. We have only really been hanging out with people in the hostel so it was nice to meet some Australians finally and party with them.

We sadly had to leave Melbourne today 😞 I know its only the first city on my holiday but I fell in love! The people are so nice, the atmosphere is so casual and there is so much to do. The hostel we stayed at there truly proved all my previous concepts of hostels wrong. While it could have been cleaner, the workers were so nice and the people I meet are great. Especially my roommate from London who I hate to leave but will hopefully see again very soon. Before we let for the airport the hostel surprised everyone with ice cream and the movie Road Trip. We are going on to Canberra and the flight (as always) was definately an ordeal. Our flight was delayed because of t-storms and the airline we flew didn't even have employees in the terminal! They just talked to us over load speakers. The flight was 1/4 full and horribly bumpy (ps as many of you know I hate to fly) but we made it.

I left the rest of the girls are spend a couple nights with some old family friends I knew when I used to live here. It is so nice to have a home cooked meal, a warm clean shower, a full bed, and my laundry done! But the best part of my trip is coming tomorrow. The friend I am staying with works at Parliament in the Speaker of the House's office and she organized a meeting between me and him tomorrow!!! As a present she gave me a copy of his schedule tomorrow and it says 10am: meeting with Erinn Ryberg, future President of the United States. The only bad part if sadly the nicest outfit I have is running shoes and jeans but oh well. I am so exicted to meet him and will give you all the details later!!! Now that I have free access to a computer I will hopefully be able to fill everyone in on my meeting tomorrow night 😊 Talk to you then.
