Despite our late arrival, we were still up at the crack of dawn! We were unsure of what we wanted to do considering the long flight we had just encountered, lack of sleep and the time difference. However, this decision was made easier by Tom (a fellow traveller from France) who offered to take us into the city and show us some of the sites, we initially thought this would be done by bus and were shocked to arrive at the dock where we boarded the city cat (a type of ferry which operates across Brisbane River like a bus). We also used this opportunity to get a new laptop to replace the broken one :-(
After getting our breakfast and bearings we walked to South Bank (the artificial beach) and relaxed before lunch. We went back in to the city and had tea at a traditional British pub - the pig and whistle - the steak was delicious!
Spent the evening relaxing in the hostel getting to know everyone and getting ideas for the next six days.
