Laura and I had no trouble taking the Bus to the Goethe Institut. Once we got there, we had to leave our luggage in the entrance way and travel up the stairs to face our fate. We didn't pay close enough attention to where we needed to go first so, we actually started at the end. We paid our room deposit and got our keys. We asked to stay in Josenturm but they told us it's currently closed. We asked what we needed to do next and they sent us back to the front. The first room was pleasant. We spoke with a man who gave us binders of information and told us where the location of the super market. The second room involved an interview. That wasn't too bad. I spoke (in German) with a really nice lady and between the two of us we decided that I should be in the B1 class. Well...then room 3 came. It's the one where the written test is taken. It was very scary!!! My test anxiety began to kick in as I took the test. In retrospect, I wish I would have worried less about finishing the test (which is what test anxiety tends to do to me) and worried more about carefully focusing on each question. But that part of my life is over now. Anyway....I didn't do as well on the test as I would have liked and the guy in that room better known as Hasenfuss(rabbitfoot) suggested I take the class right below B1 to improve my grammar. He claims all Americans have problems with grammar because we are taught grammar using English. Well, anyway it's kind of nice being in the class I'm in because it reviews the German grammar I forgot and there is some new stuff. It also helps me improve on my teaching skills. When there are people around me that don't get it I explain it to them. I guess B1 will just have to wait until next month.

Don't worry about Hasenfuss--he's a crazy old man! :) Besides, doesn't he look exactly like Einstein?? Lol. Miss you!
