even from the air port, i was pretty impressed by the scene
Greetings dear blog readers!

First to the disclaimers: this is my first travel blog (actually its my first blog en general), so if i go off on a tangent, bear with me, i´m still fine-tunning my sense of blogging breavity. Second (and this is a big one): no spell check.. so...anyway, third, this keyboard is pretty funkey and some keys are counter intuitive so if in the middle of the sentance ñ¿ç you see some of those charecters, then pretend like you understand them, and that they are supposed to be ¡there!

ok, so i landed today at 2ish in Tegucigalpa, Hoduras. My goal was to get here and get to the islands (the coastal city La Ceiba and the island Utila) asap. I could have taken a plane from tecucigalpa to La Ceiba but decided to pass b-c it wasn´t a good deal, next option, is a bus for a fith of the price, but i´ll have to wait a day to avoid landing in a new place at 9PM.

= a day to spend at Teguc. a quick cab ride to the hotel Nuevo Boston (i´ve been to boston, and don´t really see the resemblance..), check in, and i´m out around the downtown area exporing. so far i´m really suprised at how little english is spoken here, and how much i´ve been able to get along on my semester and a half of highschool spanish.. I´ve also had a big of shock from the whole "holy shit!, i´m in a foreign country all by myself with some serious language barriers..", but i´m over it by now, the less i can get by on english, means the more spanish i´ll learn in my time here.

Budget wise, i realized that this country is a good choice for an unemployee after i bought a honduras fútbol shirt offered at $5, about half the price that i thought I would have to haggle to. after a few hours of strolling around, and taking some snapshots, i got some queso popusas (look it up if your curious), and found some internet to share these experiences with you.

plan for tomorrow: get to La Ceiba, and either spend a night there, or go streight to Utila same day..

Hi Daren, Looks like an adventure. The language deficit shouldent bother you, after all you were illiterate in thailand. At least you can read the road signs (if there are any). Have fun love Judy(aunt)
