This is how we end most days in the Bahamas. Have you ever seen anything more beautiful?Last week we had 2 fun couples come back to join us for 2 weeks cruising the Exumas and Eric finally had some serious competition with fishing and lobstering. It’s funny... When you put spears or poles in the hands of otherwise civilised, well mannered men, they suddenly transform into hunting machines and slowly revert back to their ancestor cavemen.
For anyone who doesn’t quite know how lobster hunting works...here’s a little “lobstering 101”:
1) Squeeze into the original wetsuit you owned when you were 19 to convince your wife that your body hasn’t morphed in the past 25 years. May require the use of butter and possibly forceps....
2) Waddle into the skiff being extra careful when bending to ensure no seams rip on your suit.
3) Make sure you have all the essential tools: - Spears, bucket, gloves, snorkel, mask, fins, 6 pack of beer, bag of chips and chocolate (to keep the caveman energized and to ensure he doesn’t slip right out of his suit from weight loss).
4) Must scope out the PERFECT reef... Has to be so long... so wide... a particular color and have lobsters just teaming on top of
Fruits of the hunt
Rusty and Eric show off their catch... Yummy, yummy, yummy!! Or as our cavemen would say.... RRR, RRR, RRRRR!!!!! it. If such a reef is not found, drink all the beer and eat all the snacks until you have nothing else to do but jump in and look through all the other NON-PERFECT reefs out there. Option 2 is to wave down the closest Bahamian fishing boat and take out your trusty wallet. This option has worked well in the past...
Attached are pictures of some of the 13 lobsters that were snagged in the last 2 weeks along with a SWEET Nassau Grouper. We still have some lobsters in the freezer if you’d like to join us for a fabulous meal, or better yet...come down and we’ll show you how it’s done (don’t forget your wetsuit...we can provide the butter).
The weather has finally calmed and the trade winds are settling in nicely. By far, from mid-March to the end of May, or even early June is the best time to come down to these parts. Constant sun with fewer fronts, and milder winds and warmer water (around 80 degrees). We are here until early June and still have some cabin space available for anyone wanting to hook onto a great trip.

Carved out of stone as a gift to the Queen, who had planned to visit but never showed... At least we get to enjoy the beauty of it..
Lovely waterfall on the left hand side of the staircase. cabins are:
April 10-17 = 3 double cabins available
April 17-24 = 2 double cabins available
May 1-8 = 2 double cabins available
May 15-22 = 2 double cabins available
May 22-29 = 2 double cabins available
We’d also like to mention that seat sales are more frequent now that Spring Break has passed. Air Canada and Westjet often have sales and American Airlines has regular flights from Montreal at $300 return (plus tax). That’s cheap man!!!
We want to finish our season with a bang and fill the boat on these last weeks if we can, so drop us a note and we’ll work out a great deal for you. We’re going out on those weeks anyways, so you may as well join in the fun. The more the merrier!!!
