Thought of the jump woke me up, I was probably terrified for the first 15 minutes after waking up. But staying quiet helped me stay calm, we drove down to the Bungee place and booked ourselves. There is a restaurant and bar where you can sit and watch others jumping (its shown on TV as well), but I wasnt in the mood to wait, thought its best if its just done with.

Jana and I were joined by 6-7 other people, we were weighed, given a jump number, fit with a harness and walked through a bridge (which is like a cage, but if you fear heights, dont look down). Despite Jana telling me to look down, I kept my eyes focused ahead on her as we walked to the jump.

The bridge is 216 meters, the first jump takes you about 180 meters in 5 seconds, then you recover almost 165 meters and go down again, and then a third time. So its like a 3-in-1 jump, total lasting about 12-15 seconds. Once we got there, we saw a group of trained professionals, they were obviously very chilled out having done this many times (and this of course was my first bungee 😊 But as soon as they played loud music, my mind got relaxed, the jump master decided a sequence based on weight, I was number 4 I think, Jana was 5th.

Watching the first person jump, was awesome, the fear getting replaced by excitement. Couldnt wait for my turn 😊

When it came and I was fitted with the gear, I took off my glasses and gave it to Jana. For me, the jump itself was always going to be easier than for others, because I cant really see without my glasses 😊

Its tough to describe the jump itself, its definitely the craziest thing I have done, its also probably the most fun thing I have done. After the first fall and the rise, when you are in free float (no gravity) for that fraction of a second, its an awesome feeling.

The feeling that the harness will slip from your feet is a common feeling, everyone gets it, but of course, that doesnt happen. There has been no accidents in this place as I read later (normal me would have read all this in advance, but heck I am on vacation 😊

Jana jumped like a champ with a smile on her face and after we were all done, we went and bought DVDs/pictures of our jumps and t-shirts. You are already on such a high post the jump, that you tend to go a little berserk with shopping right after that. Great business model for the guys who run the bungee 😊

We got back to the bar and enjoyed a few drinks, watching others jump. And then were back to the backpackers where both Kat and Jana beat me at Pool easily 😞 Later in the evening, we travelled to Jeffries Bay

As Jana would say, "Its all good"
