The 16 hour trek from Raleigh, NC to Rockford, IL (near Chicago) turned out to be 15 hours this time which was a pleasant surprise although none the less gruelling. But we made it here and sure enough wake up Sunday morning to Rockford welcoming me back with snow. And now, Monday morning I believe it is still snowing and we have at least 2-3 inches on the ground. We had the pleasure of hanging out with our friends after which Tony and I entered our Oscar picks for a chance to win a trip to the red carpet next year and sat down to watch only to get a severe blow as we miss the very first nomination. Our only comfort was the fact that it was a year of unpredicted winners - we tried.
Well, today there is not too much on the agenda as we grow more and more excited and a little anxious to get going. But alas there are still friends to see and a few more sunsets to accure before we take flight.
Until next time.
