Another day in ultrasound
the first patient came in and while she was changing into her gown....trans-vaginal scan.....the doctor said something to me
i thought he said would you like to have a scan
i was a bit freaked out so said i didnt understand
turns out he was asking if i wanted to perform the scan
i gloved up and, although he had to guide me, i performed my first scan!!
exciting!!
this woman had cysts or something
i did another few trans scans...one lady was 3 months preganant and the baby looked so cute!!
also did some abdominal scans on pregant women
ive got used to setting the equipment up and finding the babys head and heart and legs and all the things we have to measure and take pictures of
it really cool to be able to be so hands on
he completelyit for about 5min while he does the paperwork then hell come over and ill scan and he´ll help
i learnt how you work out the sex of a baby too today
its so cool how you can see so much
little hands
little noses
little legs
and theyr all moving
felt a baby kick today too
i really like scanning
not so much the trans-v scans...theyr not nice really
anyways
off out tonight for dinner with sara
not sure where we´ll go but i cant wait to eat yummy food!!

babys
sounds as if you really enjoying the baby bit, charlotte. just think of all the experience your having, more than most new students starting out, your so lucky to have all this behind you next year, and you'l never forget it, even with all the modern technology in this country, you'l still be able to reflect on the success in poorer countries. keep enjoying it, love you loods. karenxxxxx
