Everyday leaves us enjoying Tuscany in new ways. Weather during the day has been in the mid 70's to low 80's with some rain periodically later in the day. One late afternoon and evening we had heavy rain, thunder, and lightning. But nothing has stopped us from eating most days out by the pool overlooking the Tuscany hills and valleys.
We have had just the 2 of us at the villa and for a few days we grew to 12! Always a challenge to plan and feed the different size groups but everyone has pitched in and helped in some way. Always fun to decide the next antipasto plate for before dinner and of course, the appropriate wine (which one isn't!). Bolognese, roasted chicken, chicken parmesan, ravioli/tortellini with pesto have been some dinners which always seem better here in Italy.
We have visited many small cities/villages such as Greve (for a wine tasting Chianti festival), Gaiole, Monteriggioni....and larger ones such as Siena, Cortona, Montepulciano, and Montalcino (for Brunello tasting). All have great old streets to wander and find the next church, view to take a picture of, or find a great lunch spot.
Fun having others see the places we enjoy and get their view of all the surroundings.....they always see something that we have missed. And enjoying new places with friends and family is a perfect way to spend a day.
A small refrigerator and small freezer makes planning meals important as space for buying all our needs is a key. So more grocery shopping than expected but even that is an enjoyable experience. Even learning a few more words in Italian to use for the next outing. The rule of the house is never come home without some more water and wine! Or cheese, or meats, or desserts!
For anyone palnning to stop by, layers of clothes and a small umbrella is advised.
Ciao for now!

Sounds like you're enjoying your trip . How lucky all your friends and family are to experience this with you. For some reason I have not been getting your updates. Cyndee forwarded hers to me. I'll work on it to see what's wrong. Have fun and drink lots of wine. (Oops, I forgot who I was talking to.) Love, Carolee
