Just thought I'd add a quick entry...

Robin and I are currently in a shopping plaza... which is all a bit surreal... having come online to waste a little time before we head off to the cinema... Something we decided would be nice to do as a treat.

Trying to think back over what it is we've been doing since the last blog entry... nine days ago... we came back to Chiang Mai on Tuesday the 8th and have been enjoying the city... Mostly spending our days reading or searching for new books as well as indulging in hours of reading... which is so nice to have the time to do...

We also visited Chiang Mai's Night Safari which had a huuuge amount of animals there.... when we first arrived, we decided to complete the walking trail... it was pitch black and quite scarey... as we set of there was a massive lake which had both black and white swans fighting the resident fish for food... Islands in the lake were home to the mokneys... who seemed to be having a great time jumping from island to island and showing off a fair bit!

While we were
Mo Paeng Waterfall...Mo Paeng Waterfall...Mo Paeng Waterfall...

From a while back in Pai - we swam in this waterfall!
watching the monkeys and swans we spotted two of the staff from the park moving some animals.... two tigers... one small siberian cub and another rather large tiger, who seemed to be a little stronger than the man holding the chain he was attatched too... creeping over we asked if we could take some photos.... no flash, no flash....

the whole park was amazing, unfortunately we didnt manage to get many photos as it was very dark and we werent allowed a flash at any point as it could damage the animals eyesight and also frighten or startle them.... the animals we managed to see included...

rhinos, lions, tigers, bears, hippos, crocodiles, black panthers, cheetahs, elephants, monkeys, to name a few! (heres the full list... http://www.chiangmainightsafari.com/en/animals_list.html )

We also went to tiger kingdom... It was amazing - I went into an enclosure with 5baby tigers.... who at 5 months were still quite big... they were absolutely beautiful... and very strong!

It's now Sunday evening... tomorrow we are going to an elephant conservation centre a bus ride away where we spend the day just enjoying the elephants and watch them being bathed etc... not sure what quite to expect but nonetheless am definately looking forward to it....

Tuesday will be spent on a bus back up to Chiang Kong and the following day we will make the boat trip across to Laos - which we are both really looking forward to!

Time is a very odd thing out here... at times it feels like we've been gone months - and then again - like now - feels like only a few days we were back home... 😊

We are bioth missing everyone lots but really are having the most amazing time!

Love you all lots!
