I leave in just over two weeks.. heading back to South Africa, the country of
the Drakensburg Mountains.. the country of the Cape of Good Hope.. a nation
with a vibrant and troubled past.. with the chance of a beautiful future..
a nation full of energy, culture and beauty. This is a country where evils sometimes
created good..and good created more positive progress. Where colonization built
cities, schools and structure..yet also brought oppression and violence..
Yet, once I went back to South Africa, last year.. I knew I needed to be there again.
I needed to smell the truly fresh air and taste the salt water of Durbans' beaches.
I watched a few episodes of the Waltons again tonight with my parents. It's kind of
our thing.. I realise how incredible my family is.. and how much they mean to me.
this is going to be hard. I can't imagine not seeing my wonderful mom and dad, at least
once a week. I am scared. . . yet I cannot wait to be back, near the mountains , the
hills and pines of Mooi River... the sugar cane fields...
2 weeks.

All I can say is it is going to be hard for me Joshua to let you go, but I know how important it is to you to be in your second home-just know how much I love you.
