It is officially the day that I will be leaving for Zurich to meet a family I have not met in person. What the hell am I doing?! This past 24 hours have been hectic, with my going away party and trying to see all my closest friends before I fly away. The one thing that I hate most about leaving is calling the bank. No matter how many times I call, something seems to happen when it comes to using my cards overseas. Always, it is the one reliable thing about Bank of America. Not only was I on hold for half an hour but I also had the call dropped from their end. I try to pride myself on not getting upset about small things like this however when it occurs several times in a row, a person cannot help but get frustrated.

On the upside though, my bags are all packed... finally... Only because Brianne was able to come organize my life after we had breakfast. Thank goodness she isn't too overwhelmed when she is over. My place tends to freak anyone who enjoys a clean area out. I like to call it organized chaos.

After finishing packing my life away, I was able to visit a few more friends before going to have appetizers and drinks with my parents. It was a totally last minute thing, I had hoped to see Matt before I left but he couldn't find any spare time it seemed. Apparently feelings were stronger from my side. Although I probably would have been a sobbing mess. I managed to cry every single time I even remotely thought about leaving. Moving to Florence wasn't this difficult. The extra seven months that I'll be gone must be getting to me. I'm trying to stretch every last second that I'm in my own home out into eternity. Wishing the clocks would all slow down for the next two hours before I get in the car to go to the airport. It is always strange to know that tomorrow I will be sleeping an ocean away, in a different country, speaking a different language, in a foreign bed. I really hope its a nicer bed than what I slept on in Italy. Where the bed was caving from all the different people that had slept on it, with one side higher than the other so you can't sleep properly on your back.

Imagine its late at night you are exhausted from a long day getting lost in the city after classes and all you want to do is sleep. You turn down the covers and climb into the noisiest bed ever created and lay down. The next minute you are awoken by a falling sensation, which would be you rolling off the right side of the bed. Not fun.

Writing about sleep when one is sleep deprived is interesting. I am so looking forward to the Ambien CR my doctor gave me to take on the plane ride over the Atlantic. Exhaustion is kicking in big time. Here's looking forward to Zurich!
