BBQ
Michel, Milan, Pepa PigMmmmm pancakes
I promised the Brazilian boys (Felippe, Tiago, Leandro) that I would make some good ol' Canadian pancakes and french toast. The boys had never had pancakes or french toast before.. I know, such a crime! I got up early and made some perfect Canadian pancakes and french toast with a hint of vanila. The boys arrived and I set out the plates infront of them with the butter, syrup, and icing sugar all ready for them on the table. I sat down and the boys all looked from their plates to me with confusion in their eyes... they had no idea how to dress or eat their pancakes and french toast. I ended up giving them a breakdown of how to eat pancakes...
step 1: spread butter on pancakes and french toast while warm so it melts evenly
step 2: pour Canadian maple syrup ALL OVER both pancakes and french toast... lots and lots of syrup
step 3: sprinkle icing sugar over the french toast
step 4: cut pieces of the pancakes/french toast and eat
step 5: return for seconds, thirds, and fourths!!!!
Once the boys figured out what to do with their pancakes/french toast

Uri, Pepa Pig, Milan, Monika they devoured them. They were not used to having such sweet food for breakfast but I explained that this is not an everyday breakfast and more of a weekend or special occassion treat. I also devoured my pancakes and french toast between giggles, at the thought of having to explain how to eat pancakes/french toast, and dancing in my seat out of cheer enjoyment because I LOVEEEEE french toast.
The day before the pancake breakfast Milan's friend Michel arrived. He had been living in cork for the last year and was flying out of Dublin airport to head back home on the following monday. Prior to arriving he had spent 17 days camping alone in killarney national park. When Michel arrived he was very quiet but incredibly nice. He is a very down to earth guy and a gentlemen.
On the weekend we (karel, milan, monika, michel and Pepa) had a BBQ on Pepa Pig's apartment roof. We were desperately searching for a little BBQ but everyone was sold out so we had to buy a few of the disposables. Once we were set up on the rooftop the rain began to come down, in true Irish fashion.
The boys still had fun playing hacky sack as Monika and I got more and more cold in the chilling rain. After a while Pepa's friend Josef came by and he rain came down more so we all went downstairs to the centre court that had balcony's to protect us from the rain. Monika and Milan headed home but karel and I stayed for a while longer. Karel's friend Tomas came by and they both stood aside and laughed at me as the two Josef's (Pepa and his friend Josef) attacked me with a barrage of questions. Pepa is planning on going to Canada in 2010 so he was really excited about being able to ask me endless questions about Canada. Josef seemed just excited to ask me random pointless questions. And Karel and Tomas enjoyed abandoning me to deal with all the questions on my own. Eventually Karel was kind enough to rescue me by announcing that we had to go home.
We had another BBQ the following weekend and the weather was far better.

Awesome French toast
Yummy French Toast - are we sure that is not a Canadian delicacy. Are think your peeps made a sport out of eating the pancakes and French toast. Mom
