We left Kununurra this morning and drove east, crossing the border into the Northern Territory, which also meant turning our clocks forward an hour and a half. We are sorry to leave Western Australia which we've enjoyed very much - it has been seven weeks since we entered WA after crossing the Nullarbor. We're especially sorry to leave the beautiful Kimberleys.

We are spending the night at the caravan park at Timber Creek. We were told the crocodiles in the creek behind the park are fed at 5pm so we all walked down to the creek and stood on the little footbridge that crosses it.

Crocodiles started coming towards the bridge. The caravan park owners came with steak and a fishing line - they dangled the steak on the line over the bridge and the crocodiles jumped up to take the steak. It was good to see as we were quite close and, as another camper with several children said, 'the best thing is it's free'.

Quite pretty with lots of pandanas, and lots of fish and turtles in the water ... and crocs!

Hi Val and Doug, Don't tell me you stood on that bridge! I did notice there is a photo standing on the bank...very wise. Jules

I felt safer on the footbridge than the bank - they're pretty fast!
