Bienvenidos a Goa!!!
Welcome to Goa!!! Said the old man to Maria at the same time that offering his wet hand in a cordial gesture. Maria accepted his invitation politely although within she was wishing that the old man at least had dried his hands. he was dressed in a very simple way with white sarong, shirt and turban. His skin was broken and used by the time and his beard and hair all mixed together in a white confusion.
Both offered a smile but with their eyes they gave each other a warning.
When she received the old man's hand she felt the drops smashing against her skin, the feeling was strange and she wish it was just only water. At the same time that these thoghts were running through Maria's head she felt something out of the ordinary happening in her hand. The new silver ring that she bought in Rajasthan was trying to leave her and join the old man's hand. To put a stop to this, she decided to bend her finger in an attempt to stop the ring's trajectory.
The old man realised that he had failed an had to look for a different strategy, this time pressing his nail between Maria's middle and third finger. Maria could feel the pain, unjust, unfair and ugly. She finally grew tired of politedness and gave the old man a very ugly look and then turned her head to once again contemplate the beautiful Indian landscape.
So When did we arrived to Goa? I don't remember, I do remember that the trip was too long, coming from Rajasthan. But, hey!! we made it and here we are lying on the beach, being lazy, eating great seafood (not a vegetarian anymore), looking at the wildlife and the amazing sunsets, etc, etc, etc. You know, all those things I would not recommend to anyone, I will just suffer them myself. Honestly, don't insist!!! I would not put you through them, call me a Martyr!!!
This morning (as a way of showing how dangerous this lifestyle is) coconuts rained on us. I am not making it up, it honestly rained coconuts in our hut. They told us it was safe, not danger. Yeah right There are coconuts falling in this excuse for a roof, please, CAN I GET OOT?
It was great to see the men climbing the trees, such a skill and they all look so skinny and fragil!!
