I checked out of my hostel in florence today at 10. Headed to the train station to hop on the train to the beach town "Rimini."
When I got to the train station, every train headed north was delayed a minimum of 3 hours. This was due to a train derailing. The train that derailed was going in the direction of Rimini (same train tracks). If I had not gone out last night and decided to take the later train, I may have been on the train that derailed.
I took this as a sign to stay in Florence for one more night, and go to Rimini tomorrow.
I know something good will come out of this extra day...
