devotion singing

day 6

i woke up for my 5:30 am devotional. after being in there for 10 minutes 4 boys started to sing and dance on stage and i felt overwhelmed with joy. during the devotional i was introduced. by 630 i was eating and getting ready for school. i taught grade 3's/ i first showed them similarities between many languages including theirs. it was strange to see that their english book has the tortis and the hair and introduced death between them. i volunteered maze to get food for the ensema. we discussed much about our cultures and way of life. i called home and told my mom that i have never been within a population of 100%!g(MISSING)reat and genuine people.

day 7

my day started with devotional and was amazing. i got ready to go to the market. looked for postcards and could only find get well soon greeting cards. then placed with 21 other people in a mini bus which we would say fit 6. noticed in class that the kids to raise there hand would raise it as if it were a salute to hitler. i then assisted lucy inhanding out some crayons for there self portrait pen pal activity. we then hiked up a quarter way up the mountain before they turned away for dinner. we saw the fish pond and went back and listened to some zambia local music.

day 8

once again i woke up early and the paster dismissed amilie and my self as teh rest would learn how there holliday would go. i went for a nap and then had a 3 hour hike up the hill. i handed out some maple syrup candy which the kids loved and we then played with bubbles. i then packed for zambia.

day 12

arrived at the orphange late in the day and teh boys and girls were more than happy to see me

day 13

it was the presedential election so there was no school. we played a 3 hour game of football and i held my own. after that we watched many films including 101 dalmations.

day 14

i then taught gr. 1 and taught them math, english and art. for art we made paper snowflakes, which they were more than excited for. i then read the rest of my addicting book. i then taught the game 21 in basketball. i ate the ensema for dinner. it was definately interesting, including the thick sticky structure. we then watched a movie that night and after returnign the door key i looked up and saw a beautiful sky of stars.

day 15

at this devotion i had to say goodbye to everyone. it was sad to leave these great kids but i had a short journey to the fairy a head of me. i took the very cheap mini bus tot he capital city of lilongwe where i got off. i went to town and then ended up staying at the hostel and resting.

day 16

woke up and met clair and pete where we ended up going to the fairy together. we came accross a african slogan which we thought was funny. abstain or condomise. never thought it was a word. we then took a bike taxi down to the port. very interesting.

day 17

woke up and saw lakoma island. definately the most beautiful location, including africas biggest church. it has interesting history and had a great time there.

day 18

woke up and set off on a 8 hour bus ride from nahkota bay to lilongwe

day 19

got ready and departed from africa

day 20

very excited to see my family at pearson airport
