Another Beautiful Park

For my day off I decided to take a book and visit another of Ireland's beautiful park/gardens. I first went to the St.Stephen's Green park but it was completely over crowded with people so I went to the next park, Iveagh gardens. This garden is a little hidden gem! Just a street up from Stephen's Green and walled in within the centre of a bunch of buildings. There were far fewer people there so I had free range of most of the park to sit and read. There was a nice rose garden that hadn't begun to bloom yet, a cute hedge maze with a sun dial in the centre, a beautiful waterfall, lots of statues, a football field, and lots of trees and green. I think that the Iveagh garden is now officially my favourite park/garden in Dublin. I think the one end of the garden backs onto a monastery, which had a really nice brass figure of a priest reading.

I will definitely be returning to the Iveagh Garden with another book or two.

Peace and Quiet
Lovely photos. Thank you. The Iveagh Gardens would make a lovely music sculpture park now the fine bronze statue of Irish tenor John McCormack has been erected there. It's proximity to our National Concert Hall makes it an ideal locaion.
