Getting ready for EUROTRIP 2009

It's been a loooong time since I've last posted something. We haven't really taken any major trips since Argentina last August/Sept. Our next adventure? London and Italy!

Ok, so London is nothing new, we've been there a few times already and our main goal there is to spend time with Sheldon's family. We do hope to get out and see some new sites that we haven't explored before. Then it's off to Italy for a family vacation! We'll be there for 9 nights, and our schedule is packed.

Itinerary:

Rome: 4 nights
Cinque Terre: 3 nights
Venice: 2 nights

There will be a lot of traveling by train and hopefully all goes well. We're excited, but with only a week left before we leave for London, we've still got so much to do. For instance, we need to do a ton more research on the places, how to get from one place to the next, what to do in each city. We also need to pack and the tricky part will be to pack as light as possible. And lastly, we still haven't booked rooms in Cinque Terre. This is proving to be a tough place to book.. most of our correspondence is done via email, and because the area is not too touristy (thankfully), many places have no websites. So, you just try and get as much info as you can via email, which can be slow, and then make your decision. It's a shot in the dark at best and several people in travel forums have reported problems with reservations in Cinque Terre since even with a reservation, it was not honored. and they were SOL. So, hopefully we won't have such problems, but you never know.
