first pics

Hello all,

I decided this would be the easiest way to show and tell our trip, so get on board and you will be emailed when we write a new entry.

We went to Chilliwack yesterday and got a card reader for the camera so now we can post pictures, we also got new sim cards but I haven't got around to activating mine yet so stay tuned.

Today like almost every other day has been rainy and cool, but today it must have been that tiny bit colder because there was fresh snow on the tops of all the mountains, just the top halves - it looked like they had been dipped in dandruff... thats not very poetic, lets say talcum powder. (no picture of this - sorry)

I did take some pictures on the only sunny day we have had yet, and of course I managed to get sunburnt. The town is sitting on Harrison Lake, over looking echo island and there is a large lagoon on the foreshore as well which I suppose is were the little kids swim in summer.
The brown and green building on the right is where we wrk and my cafe is on the 3rd level overlooking the water.
As mentioned, apart from the dandruff snow there are a couple of bigger mountains in view which are snow capped the year round, and were the town is shrouded by clouds and mist, they are quite beautiful.

In summer it will apparently go crazy here, there are heaps of summer activities, boat/jetski/canoes for hire etc and 80% of the shops here sell ice-cream, and the most amazing toffee apples you have even seen, (I will include pic when I actually buy one.)

Work is pretty good, we have only had two shifts each, mine have both been breakfast which has been a struggle as we are still not sleeping through the night most nights. We get free passes to the hot springs pool and discounts on most treatment at the resort spa, but they are still way out of our price range. There are free meals at work when you work, which I think we will take advantage of to save some money, but don't worry we have been eating well, I even cooked a roast the other day!
