Disneyland Fun, tacky, scary, vomit, crying, fairy floss, America, expensive, magical, creepy, impressive, nausea, body aching, giddy, spoilt kids, stress, FUN (again)! These are all the things that spring to mind when I think about Disneyland Paris.
We had an absolute blast at Disneyland Paris but I think the day may have been an absolute nightmare for others. Theme parks are just one of those places where people can experience about 50 billion different emotions, like airports. Everything is expensive; you’re happy, sad, scared and may vomit. See?
We got there super early, although Smic was not impressed as we had already missed an hour of precious Disneyland birthday fun time. We had some problems with our tickets because we bought them online that morning but then this huge Brittish guy in his awesome Disneyland outfit sorted it out for us just in time for the PARADE. The costumes and make up of some of the characters was actually pretty impressive and creepy...they looked like dolls. I really think they should have a Disney parade in Amsterdam...they would love it there.
Walking down the Main Street USA was really fun but we avoided it because everything there
was a rip off. The inspiration for Main Street is a small town in the USA during the 1900’s so they have “Victorian houses” and ice cream parlours etc. We have come to realise that there are towns in Germany that actually look like the main street to this day, which is pretty funny and cute.
We watched some kids feed the ducks with the super expensive fries their parents just bought at one of the restaurants and then headed to Frontierland to go to Phantom Manor (A haunted house!). Smic will argue to this day that I got scared in Phantom Manor but I totally didn’t. Frontierland is set out like the Wild West so obviously, it’s a great land for novelty photo opportunities but we didn’t get any
From this point on, Smic went on the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril ride about 3 times. I didn’t want to go because I don’t trust loop de loops but I went on it and was so scared. I closed my eyes as it was going around and I think it feels a lot slower if you do that.
My favourite ride was the
Pirates of the Caribbean, which isn’t really a thrill ride but one where you sit in boats and cruise around watching stuff. The way they had set it up was really fun to watch though. I noticed all the cruisey boat rides in Disneyland involved seeing lots of skeletons. Scary!
The craziest ride they have there is called Space Mountain: Mission 2. It’s an indoor ride so from the outside you can’t see anything except for people strapped into rollercoaster seats and shooting up a giant ramp. I thought it would just be a big drop so I was like “Yeah whatever, this will be easy”. You go up the big ramp and then shoot into darkness for the next few minutes. The only things you see are colours blasting past you from time to time and stars. There are two loop de loops and a corkscrew. I was that annoying girl that screams the whole time. It was so much fun though!!! I would love to see what that ride looks like lit up, I don’t think as many people would go on it if they could see it hahaha.
Alice’s Curious Labyrinth is a maze that they
have there. It’s in Fantasyland, which is mostly for little kids so we thought we’d just go into the maze for fun. We ended up getting sooo lost to the point where we were practically running trying to get out hahaha.
We were both winners in the food department that day as I scored a giant hotdog and Smic got one of those giant sticks of fairy floss. They ran out of pink colouring though so it was just white hehe...still tasted yum though. As Smic went on Space Mountain about 50 more times, I sat there minding his fairy floss watching people around me. There was 2 fathers looking after their little kids who kept running, falling over and getting back up again until one of them smacked his chin really hard...bawled his eyes out...then started running again. It was making me dizzy to watch them so I turned around and realised I was surrounded by all these crying kids. A few minutes later I saw one of the two fathers again (with a cigarette in his mouth) finally just pick up his kid in a sideways fashion and leave. Lol, that’s what I mean about other people
not having as great a day as we did at Disneyland.
The sun started to set so we took some photos of the Disney castle - the giant tacky pink thing ^ _ ^. Lol, it was so tacky but Disneyland would suck if it wasn’t tacky. On the way home, I heard a mum calling her kids name. It was Ikea.
We love Disneyland!!!!
Smic:
Disneyland was awesome!!!! Lots of really fun rides and it was just tacky enough for us to be able to laugh all day at everyone... The only thing that sucked was when I tried to order lunch. Apparently it was exchange day with the Disabled Zoo at the food place I was at because the animals that served me seemed to be closely related to retarded monkeys. I ordered my food and paid for it, then stood in line for the next hr waiting for it.... That was the only bad part of an awesome day!

Awww...like kids in a theme park. Oh wait, you are kids, and you are in a theme park. I remember going there when I was a little kid.
