Lost in the wastelandLost in the wastelandLost in the wasteland

While Irina enjoyed riding through the canyons, I decided to get lost in the desert. But I am fighter and know how to survive ... Here I am about to prepare myself a delicious cactus shake.
Buenos Dias a todos! How is life in the real world ? Guess it's rough 'n rude, so we better enjoy travelling which doesn't mean it's fun all the time. We hope everybody is in good health and the daily news are getting better. It's been a while since we posted our more or less valuable remarks and pictures, we reckon it's time again to feed you with some more fairytales.
Three weeks Bolivia, we almost pulled all slots. Bolivia, situated in Central South America , quickly caught our attention, is a country of superlatives. You'll find the world's biggest biodiversity, The western highlands of the country are situated in the Andes Mountains. The eastern lowlands include large sections of Amazonian rainforests and Chaco. Lake Titicaca, world's highest navigable lake s located on the border between Bolivia and Peru. The Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat etc etc ... And then there is Potosi, located at 4,000m, claimed to be once the richest cities in the world during the spanish conquest (mainly silver and tin), the dark side of the story tells you about millions mineworkers who died due to the poor working conditions ... and La Paz, a

to find some silver ... Well, since the spanish conquest, all this precious metal is hanging around the itzy bitzy girl's necks (or ears or whatever) in Europe to express their beauty. But, we tried to make a fortune.
class of its own, shocking from the 1st contact. Bolivia broke away from Spanish rule in 1825, much of its subsequent history has consisted of a series of nearly 200 coups and countercoups, which isn't a very surprisinbg fact in that hemisphere. Do you like Coca, then you might find heaven here, but be careful ... People are struggling with force and proud but still, it's one of the poorest and least developed countries in Latin America.
We had a fancy time rushing through the land, sometimes on the gringo trail, sometimes far off the beaten track. Irina went horseriding in the canyons near Tupiza while I got lost in the desert. We fell in love with wonderful Sucre, got sad & angry in Potosi, got stuck in Coroico due to transport failure and made it up north into the Amazonas Basin just to get heavily attacked by billions of mosquitos. We didn't make acquaintance with Evo Morales just to tell him that the country put a spell on us.
Ay Karacho, it was challenging ... now we try to get rid of all the dust in beautiful Arequipe in South Peru. We plan to cruise up north slowly, avoiding

It's so hard to resist ... even if it's not your birthday. Strolling thru the mercados of Bolivia is dangerous if you are hungry like a wolf.
the masses as usual, trying to find the jewels behind the dusty curtain.
Love and see u soon ...

Spending a few nights in the Amazon jungle we were visited by a hungry fellow during our breakfast. Since my love and heart for reptiles is very big, I decided to share.
