Just a quick addition to the recent blog - we thought we’d let you know about Pilch’s tattoo experience in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Also we have managed to add the rest of the photos from the other day - hope you enjoy!
We originally went to someone offering tattoos in the local night market but when we went back the next day to see the stencil but he seemed to have gotten the wrong idea about what Pilch actually wanted - he had drawn some weird fireball thing and when we said we wanted something else he started drawing random lines all over the picture. When he went to get someone to translate for us we ran away (shameful we know!) but he was clueless!
So we found a cute little tattoo place just round the corner from our guesthouse called Tattoo Machine (seems to be one of the only ones here too)… the guy (Neng Sinath) was really nice and loved his work. He drew up a really good stencil and we spent 4hours there, drinking beer and chatting with him about his job and his amazing motorbike. He has learnt how to do tattooing by himself and
has been doing it for a long time - he would love to have a tattoo himself but can’t find anyone to do it for him!
So Pilch is now clingfilmed around the middle (kinda like a corset) but it was worth it as you can see from the photos the tattoo came out great… the face came from a photo we took around the temples (Ta Prohm) and Neng added some nice effects and colour… see for yourselves… xx
Ps. We just bought the coolest clothes from this little shop - very eighties and trashy! Pilch got a free top coz he couldn’t put it down in the shop and Tanya spent so much in there - its florescent with bones on it (er-hum)… think it may have to be kept in the cupboard for festivals only!!!
