Hello & welcome to another blog entry from my travels....
So a lot has changed since my last blog entry! I finished my 1 month on the Indonesian islands & thoroughly enjoyed it! Indonesia was a great & fantastic experience where I learned a heck of a lot, broadenning my horizons, & also fortutnately enough met some amazing people! Indonesia is huge so there is a lot still do there & definately somewhere I will return to sometime in the future ;-)
Further changes sees us in Bangkok where we met up with 2 of my cousins who have come to share a fraction of this amazing experience with me! We caught up with them in Kho San Rd & it was certainly great to see them & also have them with for the next few weeks ;-) We did not stick around for long in Bangkok & headed straight for the islands a couple of days later - yeah baby!
Unfortunately with it being high season in South Thailand & Chinese New Year the overnight trains & buses were all fully booked for the next 3 days. This forced us to fly to Krabi (the rock climbing
mecca of South East Asia) and from here we took the ferry to Ton Sai beach. This was our home for the next 5 days. Adjectives describing the ferry ride to this beach include beautiful, breath taking, amazing & stunning! The view is exactly like it is my travel guide - unbelievable! The sea water is calm, clear, turquiose with amazing rocks in the middle!
Our days here were spend endulging in our buffet breakfast that came along with the accomodation, smoking hubbly after breakfast before heading to soak up some rays on the beach - 30 degrees plus daily. Here we would spend roughly 5 - 6 hrs of just pure relaxation & having a good time! It is exactly what i had envisioned on this trip! Ton Sai beach iteself is rocky so not the best for swimming - so we often took the 4 minute ferry ride (we could walk but we were lazy) to Phra Nang beach which is swimmer friendly & even more beautiful! WOW! Soft white sand & clear water at the the perfect temperature! Towards sunset (as recommended by the travel guide) we would make our way to Railey West beach ,
by foot, to witness some sensational sunsets! These sunsets were truely amazing & definately a must see for all visiting Krabi.
We did manage some form or sort of exercise on 1 of the days. We hiked up to the view point which was well worth it! I cannot express enough how amazing it is up there! From here we made our way down to the lagoon - a bit of an anti-climax having done the view point 1st. Personally for me, not best of friends with heights, the climb down to the lagoon was as "tense" as fun! Trying to squeeze through tiny gaps & dangling from ropes added to the experience & certainly was an upper body work out.
Besides chilling on the beach & hanging with my cousins, I met many other travellers at my local evenning hang out spot, Chill Out Bar. The name does not lie - everyone here is so chilled ;-) Here we would exchange stories, learn about the respective home countries, pick up travel tips, share plenty of laughs & sometimes jam with locals. I simply love these occasions & moments! It is definately a great part of travelling &
my trip thus far!
Having said all this, Krab -Ton Sai, is one of my favourite places/islands I have done thus far! I loved & enjoyed my time in Krabi! It was truely a fantastic 5 days & exactly what I had wished for ;-)
