The very first thing I heard in the morning today was the Indian National Anthem as it was the Republic day. The ride was planned but not the destination. Due to national importance of this day all borders of Delhi are being virtually sealed with high security check points. So we (Ravindra and me) decided to catch the wind towards Jaipur on National Highway 8.So My new Royal Enfield Electra 350cc started thumping towards Jaipur at about 10.30am.Being very new it has got the restriction that it shouldn’t be running more than 50 - 60 km/hr speed till it finishes first 2000 kms ..! So adhering to that we started.

When you start on NH8 from Gurgaon towards Jaipur, you find habitation on both side of the roads till Daruhera which is about 30 kms from Gurgaon and will find people crossing the NH8 across the two parts every now and then. A School bus passed by , from which few children waved the Indian Flag to us, indeed it was the republic day. We both were enjoying the ride with beautiful view of farms around with mustard crop ripen.

Roads are the lifelines of any country and so for this one, what makes this life line more enjoyable are the road side small hotels, dhabas we call them here. We took a stop at one such dhaba and enjoyed the Aalu(potato) paratha with Curd..it was break needed for us and MotorBike too.

After making ourselves easy for half hour, we started again and then thought of taking this ride to Neemrana, Rajsthan which is 100 kms from Gurgaon and might be 130 kms from New Delhi. It is famous for its palace hotel. We reached there at about 1pm with our prescribed speed, took us two hrs.

In Neemrana, I like the walk up the Aravali hill on the foot of which this palace is built, it is steep a bit and gives a warm breath soon after you start. Up from the top of this small hill you see the Neemrana palace, indeed a good view. When you walk up - get to see wild peacocks playing around - nice to see them.

Now days, a British company has started something called ‘zipping’ which is joy ride on the stainless still ropeways thru the Aravali hills, 1500 INRs for a three hrs ride I guess.
These guys seemed to be enjoying the Freedom in the Air ..!!

Have clicked some of the snaps of Guys enjoying ‘zipping’.

After being there on top for about an Hr and having the view of Neemrana, we started back towards Delhi at about 3.30 pm, yes with controlled acceleration..! In two hrs we were back in Gurgaon.

Neemrana is the nearest place as a change from Delhi and can be well covered in a day.
This was quick ride of 200kms but on a special day that made it unforgettable.
