happy new chinese year!!!!!
well not been talkative in the past few days but we have ben very busy here; went to a park called Beihai Park; its a man made lake made not too far from the palace museum with a huge white pagoda on the top where you can walk up and get a brill view of the city; again it was cold but amazing; walked there and back and it only took aboutn 45 minutes; you can get the sub everywhere but were vouching for walking or biking; its so nice why not!!! we then had a lazy day coz we were up drinking until 6 am; i actually had one bottle of beer (mum are you proud) its so much fun with the big group of us together. we then went to ditan park which is abouot 5 sub stops away but again we biked; the actual temple was lovely but it was a mini blackpool coz it was full of cheap rubbish for local's; well saying that i dont thinkk it wss as bad as blackpool; there was strett dancers and everything; we bought some fireworks and sat in the hostel; the staff then brought out all the indrendents to make dumpling wirh and showed us how to make then; we then got loads of free food and beer for about 2 hours; at 8pm the first lot of fireworks started and we went into the huttong and the hostel staff set loads off; the huttong is only big enough for 1 car to go throu and there are trees lining it with elec cables running through; it was totally crazy; we have a police station next to us and the cars were coming out and drivving over the fireworks; its was mad; then at 11pm we decided to go on the roof balcony and then onto this bridge nearby; its a cross ( X ) bridge over massive crossroads so if you seen it from above it would make a star shape; at 11.45 firewroks started and it was 360* of constant fireworks; then along with the skyline of beijing was amazing; i was standing looking dowm a road and cried coz it was the most overwheliomg experience i have ever ever had; it is now on my personal to do list; if you have to do one thign before you leave this world it is to stand onthat bridge on chinese new year!!! i am really struggling with the pictute thing and this compluter so again im sorry for the wobbly photos haha!!!
having another quiet day and going to do the whole celebration thing tonight!!!
love to you all
