Another entry so soon! We have had an action packed week here so plenty to update, we never imagined a country so small would have so much to do (as long as you have the money for it).

We left Auckalnd (again) and went south to Waitomo, home of the glow worms (featured in the Planet Earth DVD series), where we took a black water rafting trip through the caves. We finished the day in Rotorua, where we saw lots of geothermal activity like geysers and bubbling mud pools, pretty neat but the whole town smelled like rotten eggs!

The hilight of the trip so far howevere was definately our first skydiving experience!

I was trying to convince Hawley to do a bungee jump with me, but she thought the skydive would be less scary (not sure why) so we ended up agreeing to both make the jump! After a few more hours on the bus we both started getting a little nervous, but our name was on the sign-up sheet and we weren't about to take it off! We did the jump in Taupo, which sits on a lake the size of Singapore, backdropped by the infamous Mount Ngauruhoe (aka Mount Doom from LOTR), and it seemed like the perfect spot to jump out of a plane at 12,000 feet (also because it is the cheapest place to do it).

The next day we woke up early (5am!) to go to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, a 20k hike that is labelled as "the best single day hike in NZ." It has some amazing views, and you walk right across Mount Doom and some Emerald Lakes.

We have now made our way down to Wellington, where we will take the ferry across to the South Island tomorrow.

Skydiving?
What is next for you guys? I can't believe that you both decided to dive out of a plane. Hope the pocket book can handle all the excitement.
