I was on bit of a high yesterday after feeling quite pleased that we had survived our first day-but my evening went downhill from there- I couldn't sleep a wink - The hotel is very safe, we dont need to use the doorstops we have 2 latches and can lock the door with the key. But this did not stop me from being paranoid last night as there is a nest of pigeons on the air conditioning unit right outside the window next to the bed - the bloodly pigeons pecking on the window and the gererator on all night has not helped my state of paranoia- I kept on turning on the light and looking on the floor, I though it was a mouse scratching at the door. i would have certainly been out of there in a split second. I can't beleive how cold it is at night here, it was freezing in a pair of jogging bottoms and two tops with 2 pairs of socks - its like I am back in Britain!

I had a really rough night last night, I couldn't sleep the magnitute of the task that was before us really hit me. I was pissed off with the rickshaw driver and daunted by all the days in Indai left ahead. We booked with the hotel yesterday a driver to take us around today, collection from the station in Agra, hotel for the night, which is called the royal residency, and a tour for the two days we are there, collection from the train station on sunday night and cab to station on monday moring. All for 3500 rupees which is about 50 between the both of us. This is pretty expensive for India but it is worth the for the peace of mind and less hassle.

We had an excellent day today- Just got back We went to the Red Fort, humayan's tomb, Raj Gant just to name a few.... Our driver was very nice and made us feel totally at ease. He recommended that we have lunch in a restartant called Pindi's, we had butter chicken, Alu Parak Naan and Rice. Really hit the spot and we bought some Chicken briyani home for dinner. So I can now offically say that I have treid authentic Indian cooking!

We have an early start tomorrow our train is at 6am we are going to see the Taj Mahal in Agra so just gonna chill out this evening... I am exhausted!
