Well its been a busy day in San Fran!
I seem to have suffered slight jet lag this time round which was unexpected till i realised i had spent over a month in Australia which allowed me to aclimatise to their time zones! To date on this trip i have not really suffered with the time changes, mainly due to not being in one place long enough to get used to the times zones, however i have obviously settled into Auzzie time quite easily as the diff here has knocked me a little. i sat up till 4am this morning watching the film Hook....one of my faves as a child (hence the DVD at Frinton!) and didn't rise today till MID-DAY!!
So i got my city guide and planned my day (well sort of) and headed on out. Luckily the Cable car (their name for the Tram) accross town ends/begins and turns round (on a really cool little roundabout) right outside my Hotel. So i hopped on that and headed to Lombard Street, the most Crooked street in San fran! Its so steep they had to create a snake like road from side to side! Very cool but hard to photograph...not very pleased about that one!
I really wanted to get good pics of the steep roads here but for some reason you just cant get the pic you want, unless you stand in the middle of the roads with wasn't clever, or safe!
So having seen Lombard i walked a few blocks down towards Fishermans Wharf, when i walked past a boat tour going under the Golden Gate bridge and round Alcatraz for $15! so i hopped on and spent a really fun hour with a bunch of fisherman cruising round under the bridge! I also met a guy with a couple of kids on the boat, who hailed from Halifax Canada! Ha;ifax is my last stop on my trip! So when i eventually get to load the pics on from today, all the pics of me were kindly taken by him.
Under the bridge to the left (if traveling from Fishermans Wharf) the rip was so strong there were huge waves and there was even someone surfing under the bridge!!
After that i headed towards pier 39 to see the seals, but i was stopped by a guy outside the tour operators place (where i went to get the coach yesterday for the wine tour). He was trying to get my to attend a presentation on a vacations club...i politely declined but we got talking...or rather his flattery kept me there longer than inteded, and we ended up chatting for a while. His name was Josh and he had just moved back from Japan as a translator. He was american and very cheeky but funny and kind. He was trying desperately to get me to have dinner with him but i filled him in on the situ and instead he said he would take me wherever i wanted to go. I wanted to go over the GG bridge in daylight so he made a call to the city tour company and told them his Cousin was in town and could i hop on the next tour. So he walked me over to the tour place and blagged me a free GG bridge tour! Bless him! It was fab! i have some great pics and for once in San Fran, it wasnt foggy, so we had a clear view of everything.
After the tour i grabbed some seafood on the pier and got the cable car back to the hotel.

Tonight i will go out to play. They have a good Gay scene here (apparently) so i will go check that out.
I leave here tomorrow at Mid-day to fly to LA for 2 nights before flying onto Vegas for 3 nights.
Every one is telling me not to bother going to LA for various reasons but i really want to tour the old film studios, do i am going anyway!
This will be the last blog from SF so i will write again in LA.
Wish me luck with the luggage limit!
Love to you all

Lucy x
