This whole week I don't have school because of fall break and I find it rather interesting. Of course Halloween isn't nearly as popular here as it is in America, yet some people go trick-or-treating and have costume parties. I hope to find some in town soon.
My adventures today consisted of the following: searching for some soap, telling someone of New Jersey, and seeing HSM 3. My day started off with getting my picture taken at the migration office because the last two sets I have sent in with my visa have been incorrect. After that, my host mum went to work and she dropped me off in the city to tool around for a while. I went looking for some soap in all of the touristy shops because I hear that you don't have to wear as much lotion with them. If that doesn't sound appealing to a woman, I don't know what does. So I went into one of them and the woman who was working there came up to me and asked me- the first thing she asked me, do you speak English? I know! Inconceivable! It might have been from the fact that I was wearing

just some buildings. Some people actually rent the living space above the cafes here- unbelievably expensive though! a jacket that had Hurley written on it, or maybe there really is "American" written on my forehead, I just can't see it because I am one. I don't know. Anywho, so I said to the woman in Estonian, I also speak a little bit of Estonian. She was surprised and then continued in English. The funny thing about the soap that they sell in this one store (which I have been in a few times) is that they are so proud of it- and for good reason may I add. I love this soap, and it is so entertaining to watch these people try to sell it to all of the tourists. I bought one because it smelled really wonderful and it was quite inexpensive. When I went to go pay for my soap, the same woman asked me who it was for and I said it was for me. She asked if I live here in Tartu, Estonia and I said that I am a high school student here, yes. We got to talking about where I was from and then she told me that she was planning to go to America in the very near future. She
one of my favourites
even though it is a little blury said she was going to New York, Miami, and up along the coast. I gave her some "insider tips" for going to New York that I have heard of: like if you visit New York, always stay in a hotel in New Jersey where it is cheaper and only about a half hour away. Not to mention safer I’m sure. She said thanks, I paid for my soap and then was on my way. Or was I? I decided to see how much some really thick socks were in another touristy store. While there, I met another woman whom I managed to engage in conversation. I noticed that her accent wasn't Estonian and so I asked her. I said if you don't mind me asking, where are you from? She replied Estonian. Then I felt really dumb. Maybe I didn't know Estonian accents as well as I thought. Then she said that she spent a year in Ireland. Ha! I was right! There was an Irish accent mixed in with an Estonian! I redeem myself! She then asked me where I was from and I said America. She said that was what she thought. She then told me something that
I have never heard yet it is one of my favourite things that has happened for a long time! My accent- like most Americans is sexy! Ha! This woman just became my new best friend! I said that I was envious of hers and she agreed that we are women: never satisfied with what we have. Hehe. Kind of true.
Later that day, I met up with two Brazilian friends of mine and one Estonian friend. We met at the movie theatre where we saw one of the weirdest science fiction movies of all time: High School Musical 3. I know, very odd pick, yet I think we had seen every other movie that the theatre offered. It was hilarious to watch everyone dance all at the same time, at the most random of time, all singing along to the same song (supposedly they have never heard before), and it occurred throughout the entire movie! One of my Brazilian friends said that it was a work of science fiction and that he loved it. Oih. The best part about it was when I was the only one to laugh- which happened quite often because the movie took place in Albuquerque,
the same as the first pic
only earlier in the day- only about an hour and a halfs difference though. New Mexico, America. Basically, I knew all the inside jokes of this and that. My friends started laughing when I did just to make me feel better yet ended up stopping before I did. They stopped laughing with me because they didn’t get the jokes and then I made some random people start laughing because I was the only idiot in the whole theatre laughing. I got out of the theatre with no dignity, and I loved it! Just goes to show that you can if you give an American girl a chance to watch an American movie in Estonia, she will look all American by the end of it! Tsau for now my dear fans.
