This week we have a delegation of Swedish teachers visiting Wuhan, and in particular our school. These four ladies are only here for 6 days, and our school has been preparing for their arrival for well over a month. Today all of us foreign teachers were included in the plans for the morning, and I was part of the guide group all day. The morning began at 9am, where we all gathered in the conference room for introductions. Our school put together a powerpoint presentation about our school and it's role in Wuhan, and the Swedish teachers informed us how the school system works in Sweden. After this we gave them a tour of the school - the ping pong classroom, the library, the art room, music room, dance studio, and science technology classroom. They were very impressed - most foreigners don't imagine Chinese students to be so lucky! All of us shared lunch together at a fancy restaurant near the school, and then we headed back to our school. Some of the students had put together performances - dance, music, and art, as well as ping pong. I will add some pictures tomorrow when I get them downloaded to my computer. Later in the afternoon the Swedish teachers got together with us (the foreign teachers working at our school) to discuss the classes and ask questions. It was interesting - their school system is very different from ours in Canada. In the late afternoon and evening, we took them shopping at a nearby shopping plaza, then the school treated us all to a barbecue dinner - I am so incredibly full from all the food today!

It has been pouring all day, so these poor teachers are not getting to enjoy any of the markets or outdoor activities - we're hoping it improves by Friday.

I didn't have to teach any classes today, my job was to play hostess. And it was a lot of fun, though I'm very tired! I'm headed off to bed now, nice and early... look for an update tomorrow😊

Hey there! Sounds like you having lots of fun over there... playing hostess to all those Swedes must have been a nice change from the classroom, even though it was tiring. This week, for the first time since the semester started, I feel like I can make it through without losing my mind! Then again maybe that's because I've already lost it. lol! But I'm caught up on everything and so far have only one test scheduled for next week. Go luck with the rest of the Hostessing stuff, and good luck on finding a new apartment. later luv ya lots and miss ya more Oh yeah a really big HI from the girls. :-)
