Pisa
The incredible Leaning Tower of Pisa and Duomo Cathedral One by one the group started emerging from their tents, everyone looking worse for wear this morning. The entire group had very little sleep, if any, and needed to be packed and ready as soon as possible as we had another big day ahead. We had breakfast and got ready, eventually everything was packed into the bus and we were ready to set off for Florence. We drove all morning, most of us recovering from the previous night, until the early afternoon when we reached Pisa. The Leaning Tower of Pisa was something I had wanted to see for a long time and today was finally the day. Billy parked the coach and we walked a good 20 minutes to get to the Tower. Jamie had warned us not to buy anything from the people trying to sell you stuff outside the grounds because you could actually get into a lot of trouble.
We had just over an hour to explore here because we way ahead of time due to the minimal traffic. It was a bit of a miserable day today which was a shame because it was difficult to get some really good photos of the Tower. We

View across the Piazza del Duomo with the Leaning Tower of Pisa in the background wondered around the tower taking lots of photos as we headed towards the ticket counter to see if there was any chance we could go up the top. But as I thought it was over 4 hours till the next available time slot, no chance so instead I bought us tickets inside the cathedral next to the tower. Hannah and I continued walking around the Leaning Tower of Pisa to get the best view of the angle and take some cheesy tourist photos. The weather was clearing up quite quickly, the blue sky was coming out and it was starting to get much warmed. We headed over to the Cathedral and went inside to have a look. It was incredible impressive and again I was astounded by how old these buildings were and in what fantastic condition they were in. I took some photos inside the beautiful cathedral then headed back outside to get more of the Tower.
By the time we were outside the sky was almost completely blue, a total turnaround from when we got here, it was amazing. I continued to take lots more photos then slowly walked back to the meeting point as it was

Close up of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Duomo Cathedral behind it almost time to head back to the bus. Once everyone was here we walked back to the bus and continued to drive our way to the city of Florence. It was another 3 hours before we arrived at our campsite and when we did we were told that if anyone would like to pay an extra 6EURO per person we could get a large pre-set tent with beds. Around 10 people ran up to Jamie offering money for a chance not to have to setup our tents. Hannah got there in time and secured us a tent, we were wrapped, definitely worth the extra money. Shortly after the heavens opened and it was absolutely throwing it down. Unfortunately most of the group set their tents up in the pouring rain, in an area covered in mud.
We had a bit of time to relax before we had to be ready and meet at reception for a night out in a pub downtown. Some of us took a taxi, some walked but we all arrived at the pub and had some drinks before dinner. We had a 3 course meal while some of us watched the Olympics, the food wasn’t
Pisa
Amazing view of the Duomo standing next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa bad but nothing special either. After dinner we made for the karaoke room and drank the night away while singing some crazy songs. That is we tried to but the guy on the guitar who was a Nazi on what we were allowed to sing, if he didn’t like it we weren’t allowed to sing. It was an awesome night but the guy controlling karaoke was getting on our nerves and as the locals began coming in we thought it was time to leave. We walked back to the campsite which took a good 30 minutes, then headed for our tent and went straight to sleep
