I went downtown again today with the same crowd relatively. Explored. Today, random thoughts and commentary:

The weather here is crazy awesome. It is extremely predictable and goes a little something like this. Warm and sunny (70s-80s) through the morning until around 3ish. Then it gets cloudy - really dark clouds - and you know what’s coming. It starts to POUR for an hour or two or three, complete with huge rumbling thunder and elegant displays of violent lightning. That’s how it goes almost every day. The storms here are amazing to behold; the rain just dumps and doesn’t stop. It really put Seattle to shame. Plus, the lightning makes you fear for your life whenever you go out. I put up a video of the rain one night. Check it.

The food is similar to the weather in that it is predictable - cheap and delicious (and sometimes violent on your stomach as well). Anywhere you go you can find full, delicious meals for about $3. And Mike, I haven’t seen peanuts anywhere, so you’d be cool. But there are tons of beans in everything, so I’m mildly glad Waud isn’t around.

Also, lazy Sundays here are truly that. Everything - the pace of life, the bus schedule, even your breathing - slows down. People just sit and chill in the park and people watch all day. If you don’t like relaxing you would hate it. And I probably wouldn’t like you very much either.

The bus door always stays open when moving. Just a cool thing I thought.

There is soccer on tv, in the newspaper, in conversation, pretty much like a disease you can’t get rid of - A REALLY SWEET disease. I’ve always said that I’ve wanted a tapeworm because then I could eat all I wanted without worrying about it too much. I feel like this is like that. I’m indulging in all the futbol I can get my head around and everyone is not only ok with it, but they know that I’m not talking about the Seahawks or Patriots.
