Hello All!

Well we made it, after our 9 hour lay over in Singapore. (where we slept on the floor of the airport.. it's true, it's VERY clean!) we have arrived in Bali!

Day one was very intense, and both had us wondering if we made the right decision to stay in this place for a month. However, after a much needed 10 hour sleep, we feel the decision was not only brilliant, but probably genius to some!

The beaches are mad, they go on for miles at a time, the surf is huge and peddlers are plenty. After forcing ourselves to walk through a busy merchant street for about a couple of hours of little sleep, we decided it was time to go back to our hotel, get some food and sleep.

Everything is cheap... extremely cheap. You can bargain things down for as little as 50 cents for a pair of designer sunglasses. Beers are between $1- $3 which in my opinion (Shannon) is BRILLIANT!!!!! The fruit is overwhelmingly tasty, fresh papaya and watermelon for breakfast will be our new staple diet.

The traffic is out of control, as a pedestrian you just basically hope for the best, there are scooters on teh sidewalks, anywhere on the road, as it is apparent direction, traffic lights and signaling is not needed in such a crowded place.

We found a wicked reggae bar, that we plan to go to in the next few days here, where they play live reggae music each night, and apparently do dreadlocks for dirt cheap...

Our hotel is nice, a beautiful pool, kind staff, and decent size room.

Today we are meeting with a family friend (Shannon's) who is going to teach us to surf, and help us figure out some ideas of where to go.

Hope everyone at home is well, we miss you all like crazy, but probably wouldn't give up the 30 + weather at this point... We've been lost to paradise

Until next time batman....

Love
J.M and Shannon

P.S. Working on uploading photos, the computers here are a little outdated.. (seriously, the keyboard I type on has the letters all rubbed off... Good thing I know where everything is. excuse typos. )
