Here are some pictures from our campus at Griffith University. It is considerably larger than Baker, with 13,000 students (I think?) but the campus is pretty compact so you can make it from one side to the other in less than 10 minutes, which is good since professors here (all of Kristens) tend to go over their alotted time by 5- 10 minutes (EVERY time!), making it difficult to get the the next class on time. Class sizes are pretty large in lectures and smaller in tutorials and every class requires both. A tutorial is run by a TA or grad student and is basically time to answer questions and cover what the lecturer didnt get to in his/her powerpoint. Cheyenne has at least 1 class every day, while Kristen only has class on Monday and Friday, but is on campus all day those days. We have 1 class together. Most classes only have a midterm and a final and dont have much other graded work. There is lots and lots of reading. Class is class no matter what country you are in, although I wish I could say it wasn't as bad since we're in Australia!
Cheyenne got a
job as a party host at a place called Smileez, it is like the Chuck E Cheese of Australia with arcade games, and tunnels and ball pits to play in. She dresses up as either a clown, pirate, or (her personal fave) a princess. She operates some of the rides and paints faces. She likes it but wishes she could get more hours.
