As many of you know, in a mere four days I will be heading some five thousand miles across the Atlantic Ocean to spend the next three months in Senegal. My hub in the capital city of Dakar will be the ACI Baobab Center- an American non-profit founded twenty years ago by peace corp. volunteers in hopes of " cross-cultural understanding, social justice and the health and well-being of Africa's people." In late December I will be finishing my studies in Senegal and trekking to Europe for a few weeks where I will spend some time with my host families from my high school exchange in Belgium as well as with my friend Rebecca, who also attends Beloit College, and her family in Rennes, France.

I will try to keep this blog fairly up to date for the hoards of you that I know are just itching to know the details of my travels.

Erin: Not sure where you are at the moment. We are at a time-share on the beach and another next week at Myrtle Beach, SC. It has been sunny but very cool at the moment. Snow in VT tonite with possibly a major winter storm--awfully early!! We hope all is well with you. Sounds like you are really enjoying the experience. That's great.
