Lasted only an hour and a half long. Well, that was how long I was in class anyway. It is so different from America, yet also similar. I supposedly have eight classes in one day, and my day starts at eight. It is nice to have a later start that in New Mexico! So excited for that! So today we had an opening ceremony and there was a guy I met back in Finland who happens to be going to the same school as me. As it turns out, he is Brazilian with dark eyes, dark hair, and a darker complexion. Now, imagine us standing by each other out in front of the school, in a SEA of blondes and blue eyed people. We weren't the only ones to notice either. It was so funny to watch everyone look at us!
Later in class, I introduced myself, got a few chuckles out of the class because of my bad Estonian, and then that was about it. I met my teacher after class and she printed out a schedule for me and then took me to the library where I could check out my books. I apparently had Russian on my schedule and - sorry Kat- I really do not want to take another language at the moment. Estonian is freakin hard as it is, although I would love to learn Russian. Not only that, these kids have been taking it for a few years so it is not like I could just pick up what I could and see where I fit in kind of a thing. So basically, school was not as exciting as I had hoped for. Of course it started at ten today so tomorrow will be earlier. I am now excited for tomorrow!
Last yet not least, I had a Rotary meeting today. Turns out that I should have brought my flag with me yet I was so excited last night that I didn't sleep much and I took a nap when I got home. I slept until my host mum woke me up and then I had to rush to get out the door and make it to the meeting. I forgot my jacket and my flag so Gustavo (the Brazilian that I stood with earlier today is also in my club) was left to bring out some honours of his own. Everyone asked me where mine was and I looked dumb yet I will bring all of it next time. The entire meeting was spoken in Estonian so Gustavo and I kind of made small talk about how our days were- we are not in the same class so we talked about how different our classes were. Nothing that interesting happened, just got a handful of Estonian handed to us!
So as the day comes to a close, I do have to say head ööd. (goodnight in Estonian).
