Sought out some brekkie (cornetti) first up and found a great coffee just around the corner from us. Decided we’d have an easy day so wandered the streets. In 32 degree heat I wanted to wear shorts and it suddenly struck me that I have only packed 1 pair but 4 pairs of pants. So I was in search of shorts.

We couldn’t help but stumble across the Duomo what a stunning piece of architecture it is. The details and colours are amazing I still can’t fathom the skill needed in the 14th century to sculpt and build such incredible buildings.

We have had a pretty lazy afternoon in the apartment (in the aircon) as we were both a bit on the ordinary side from last night today. We did go to the local supermarket and picked up a few things for lunch and haven’t ventured out since, not even for dinner. It’s has been in the low 30’s and fairly humid so it’s been nice to escape the heat.

Tomorrow we are planning on doing a segway tour again (we’re hooked!) and finally seeing some sights of Florence. We learnt in Paris that the tour was so detailed with loads of info about the various sights that we could have then ventured back to our favourite ones that interested us the most, so this is the plan for tomorrow and then on Saturday we can go back and tour the ones we liked.

I have spent most of the afternoon bringing the blog up-to-date and learning how to add pics. I haven’t gone through all the entries but you can see the few that I have done.

Love to hear from you…leave us a message if you have the time!

Ciao

I am so very jealous!!
You both appear to be having a ball and I am very jealous. Of course there is no reason why you should not be having a ball you ARE IN ITALY!!!!....the most interesting, beautiful country in the world. I spent about 12years vacationing in Spain (which has it's own charm) but once I found Italy I never wanted to leave. When we went to Italy we did not venture as far north as you. We went to Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri and Positano. Are you going to go down to the Amalfi coast? I am enjoying the photographs, they make me even more determined to some day live in Italy. The food and the wine are out of this world (especially the tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella) so you had better do LOTS of walking to counteract the effects. I look forward to the rest of your trip. Love, Ann XXXOOOOOOOOOO
