Last night was horrible. These people were really noisy and wouldn't shut up... so I didn't get enough sleep again! But then after daddy came to get us we got another hour of sleep and he went to get breakfast by himself. So when we got up we couldn't find daddy anywhere so we just went down to the kitchen and had some toast. Then after that we hung out in the room until daddy came to get us and I played some solitaire and Cindy read. Then daddy came to get us and we decided to go to Buckingham palace. We made it in time to see the Changing of the Guard which was really cool. I took a lot of pictures and there was this cool parade with a marching band and horses and then we got closer and were up in a crowd by the front gates and I picked Cindy up so we could get some more good pictures. After that we went back to the station and got some lunch. Cindy and daddy got burger king and I got an orange and this British chicken sweet chilli with noodles salad thingy from a grocery store called
M&S. The sweet chilli dressing on the salad was really good. After that we wanted to see the Greenwich Royal Observatory. It was really hard to get to Greenwich. First we took the tube and then we had to figure out how to get on the DLR and what it was! And we kept getting all confused, and then we found the DLR and it looked like it didn't even stop at Greenwich but then we finally got on and discovered that we just had to get off and then get on a different train and we were at Greenwich. So finally after a bunch of trains and a lot of walking in the rain... (yes London is a very rainy city, it has rained EVERY day we were here!! but today was the worst, the other days it didn't rain too long)... we finally made it to Greenwich Park! So then we climbed this giant hill to the observatory and looked around. We found the prime meridian and there was this really long queue to get a picture with the cool silver thingy on it but then my dad took a really lame picture of us standing on the
prime meridian... well at least we got a picture, even if it wasn't what we really wanted... we didn't really want to stand in a queue in the rain! And then we looked at some museum about clocks and time and stuff. Flamsteed house I think it was? Oh and then we were leaving and we could see the London eye from atop that hill! (We had also seen the London eye from Buckingham Palace earlier in the day... The London eye is the biggest ferris wheel in Europe, we wanted to go on it but we never got the chance...) And yeah we made our journey back and daddy found some random dude to tell his life story to on the train. So when we got back to the train station we started heading back to Clink and got some food on the way. We stopped at a fish & chips and kebab place so daddy could finally get his fish & chips (which he said wasn't as good as he had expected, but we probably picked the wrong place) and Cindy got chicken & chips and she didn't like the chicken so later she ended up getting chicken
selects from McDonald's... and I got chicken shawarma or something like that and it was good, but a lot of food. And then we finally made our way back to the hostel and took showers and then daddy tried to call mommy but she wasn't home so he left a message and now I'm here, out of the cold & rainy weather of London (and I never found a sweatshirt yet!) in my nice warm, but tiny and orange, room. Tomorrow we have to wake up at 6 AM and then make our way to catch our train to Paris. Boy oh boy, am I gonna get a lot of sleep tonight. But if people are noisy I'll go and complain to the front desk. London was cool... we didn't get to see everything I wanted to see though because daddy was toooooo tired and sore but oh well we got to see some cool stuff. I can't wait to get out of this hostel! The one in Holland was way better.
