Mui Ne
Stormy day for the fishermen. We'll be sorry to leave Mui Ne - a 3 month old puppy at the Lam Tong restaurant has adopted us and follows us everywhere. When they let him out in the morning (0630!), he runs down the road to our guesthouse and scratches and barks at our door until we let him in.
He doesn't appear to have any name apart from puppy so we have named him Pedro. It will be sad tomorrow when we leave as if he loses us at any time then he runs back to our room and sleeps at the door until we return. Hopefully the next people to get our room will like dogs otherwise there could be trouble!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here again (7 days), a little too much sun at times for us but otherwise great. We have met some fabulous people here as well, far too many to name (I think that they all want to meet our puppy!).
The beach and water have cleared up since our arrival during the storm last week, the fishermen are out again in the mornings but not catching a lot compared to last year. Of course after
The catch
Small return for a days fishing the storm moved on the wave height has dropped considerably meaning that the surf boards have been put away. The sea breeze kicks in in the afternoon so the water is now filled with windsurfers and kite surfers.
Tomorrow we move on to Nga Trang and then on to Qui Nhon, where we hope to be able to get transport across the mountains into the Bolaven Plateau in Laos. Depending on what we find there, we may stay for a few days (little or no internet or phone coverage) before heading down to Don Khon. If Qui Nhon doesn't work out, then we will have to carry on to Hoi An and catch a bus to Savannakhet and travel south from there.
