So here I am at the shitty internet cafe across the road from where we're staying again, attempting to write update my adventures on this prehistoric piece of shit.

Glen Ord Distillery

Before we went to Loch Ness we went to a Whiskey Distillery called Glen Ord. It was a lot more informative then Talisker (the distillery I previously went to) and I got a better understanding of how everything is brewed. Tried a few whiskeys there, starting to understand the different tastes and starting to appreciate it all a little more.

Loch Ness

If it wasn't for the sightings of Nessie and all the tourist attractions created because of this, all Loch Ness would be is a massive fucking lake. Seriously, there's nothing all that exciting about it.
If you're thinking of going for a boat cruise to see a monster, you'd have better luck sitting in your bath and raising your dick above the water surface. If you do not have man bits, then you should pay for the damn boat ride.

So we went to the Loch Ness 2000 Expedition, which was rated 5 stars by the Scottish Historic Society. All it really was was a movie in 6 different rooms about the Loch Ness monster showing evidence that it doesn't exist but then showing other random bits of evidence to show that it MAY exist.

Essentially, it went something like this.

"1000 People have claimed to see the Loch Ness Monster"
"But evidence XXX (not intended to be used as a porn sign) shows that this could just have been a piece of wood in the water!"
"But then this photo here shows that it had to be longer then a piece of wood!"
"But this part here shows that it might've just been ripples created by a boat!"

etc.

To be fair, it was reasonably informative and wasn't as bad as I made it out to be, but the whole thing was a bit of a let down. We paid £6.5 ($17.5) to get in. It was better then the Viking Expedition, but yeah.

Oh one creepy thing, as soon as it all finishes, you walk into this room with thousands and thousands of Nessie toys. Seriously, there was so many I thought I was going to have to find a weapon and start swinging because we were being over taken by cuddly toys.

We then continued to walk through a shop that was probably larger then the actual expedition itself.

Urquhart Castle

This was about 5 mins drive from the Nessie expedition. It was a badass castle. There were shitloads of tourists and tonnes of attractive women. It cost the same as the Nessie Expedition to get in, but was way more worht it...for me anyway.

On the map we had there was meant to be a table to sit down to eat, so we took some food in...turns out that the table wasn't there. We were all starving so we decided to sit on a seat. Bad choice. We were basically on this corner where people coming in to see the castle and people leaving to see the castle saw you sitting there munching down on a sandwhich. Everyone just stared at us like we were lepers.
haha fuck i felt like a knob. We ate our sandwhiches as fast as possible and then went to check out the castle.

I got to see a Trebuchet which is a medieval siege weapon, similar to a catapult. It was awesome.

This castle was really different from Castle Warkworth (where I had been previously). It was more of a 'battle castle' if you must. Much more prepared for war. They had double walls, iron gate as well as wooden gates and more strategically placed gaps for archers to shoot. The castle was right on a penninsular (this stupid computer doesn't have spell check) so it would've made it much harder for enemys to attack...in saying that though, the castle was taking over many times by enemies.

Inverness

After Loch Ness, we went up to Inverness to do a bit of shopping. It's probably one of the top 5 largest cities in Scotland, but even then it's pretty tiny. Dom and Christoph went off to find a movie, so I just walked around town. No real idea where I was going, just walked for the sake of it. It was cool.
Bought a 2gb memory card (£23 or $62) for my camera as I've been taking more photos then expected.
Bought some DVD's which i probably shouldn't have but they were real cheap compared to NZ.
2 Ace Ventura's, Office Space and Team America all for £17 ($45).

Not bad.

Beinn Eighe

Being surrounded by mountains in Scotland, it was logical for me to go and climb one.
Beinn Eighe is a massive fucking moutain. It's about 550m High. The hike was meant to take 3-4 hours. We got to the top of the mountain puffed as hell, in 1 hour 10 and completed the whole journey (including stop time) in 3 hours.
Was awesome. First time ever climbing a mountain, first time doing that much exercise. Suprisingly I did way better then what I expected. I acutally lead our group (what a badass).

That's me for today. Going Horse Riding today and off to Blackpool on Wednesday.

Until next time.
