tapestries
one of the tapestries inside the church remaking the seven trumpets of gods wrath hey
so this week has almost flown by yet again!
tuesday night was our soiree international to mark the end of the months studies at the language institute
people put on skits and plays to represent there country or region of origin
i say people, cause u all know i did not get up there, even though i was egged on and even enticed to stand up and go due to the sugary aperitif i was force fed beforehand...
anywho, this started at 8 and went until like almost midnight, which is the danger zone hour in angers. so we walked over to the bar in a huge group and all were safe 😊
once inside we notice that it is very busy for a tuesday night
this is good however cause it let me practice my french "skills" all night with new friends
like raphael, his quote was " i dont like to tawk to zee ugly gurls, this i why we tawk to you and yowr friends right now"....
then he got up to get us a drink and never came back, leaving his friend to sit awkwardly in a booth with english speaking girls.
anywho then we accidently
the chateau
all lit up during the fireworks stole these guys' table and to make matters worse, i thought the beers were empty, so i threw my stir stick, which was actually a glow stick, and other materials into the half empty beer glasses...which was later met with a very angry french man.
ooops.
whatever, who leaves there drink unattended for over a half hour, thats just asking to be drugged.
so whatever we all left safely that night after more hilarious french men tried to entice us away for the weekend with them, and you know, they even assured us that there mothers wouldn't mind if we came with them.
so sweet.
the next morning we awoke to do something very traditionally north american.
we ate breakfast at mcdonalds.
the rest of the day is kind of a blur. i think i bought some cheap boots at the market, and found the bloomingdales of france on a side street.
then that night natalie had a date with these guys we had met last week, but she didnt want to go alone, and whatever i tagged along.
except they didnt show up. which at first i think she was kind of upset about but quickly got over it
as while she was away using the phone, this sweet french, yet english speaking, parisian man came to talk to me at the table. most likely assuming i was sitting by myself with a bottle of wine almost gone...and yeah.
his name is Axer, and hes an art dealer
he was visiting anger for business but left this morning to go to rome on vacation
you know, that month long vacation the french government pays everyone to take.
yepp that one.
anywho he sat with us at kent, underneath the gingerbread house, for the night and even joined us at soft later that night and walked us home like a nice gentleman
and also insisted that when i arrive in paris im to call him so he can give me a tour of the paris u dont really see
cause thats going to happen...
anywho....today we woke up to yet another cleaning day...i love the sound of industrial vacuums at 7am
so me and nat, being the only two left in anger at the time, decided to tour the chateau today,
it was absolutely amazing, it tooks us almost 4 hours to go through it
we had little cassettes for
2008 0706FRANCE0269
we had a dinner party. a guided history lesson tour and saw the great tapestries and even touched a falcon up close.
ps they wear the cutest hats ever. i have pics
the gardens in the chateau were again insanely impressive. they actually house a greenhouse in the chateau that grows plants and herbs from around the world year round.
like the mulberry bush.
ewww and all over the place were these brown lizards. they were a mix between a salamander and iquana. a squiggy.
grossssss they tried to touch me
anywho if any of u are ever in france, u should make the trip to anger just to see the chateau
then we came home and i had the brilliant idea to go on a mini vacay this week cause everyone is leaving but me. so yeah at 12pm tomorrow i leave on a ten hour train ride to Lourdes.
i am calling it my unreligious pilgrimage.
you know, to the third most visited religious pilgrimage in the world
ohhh and they have a kangaroo park!
so im hoping it will be as interesting as its made out to be
i mean madonna named her daughter after the place.
im gonna try and get
2008 0712MoreFrance0108
we visit the creparies on occasion my camera developed when i get back too because im sure it will be empty by then
but until now ill upload some pics for those who miss me terribly
much love and goodness
