Halong Bay + Extreme sun = SWEAT!

Well, we had booked our trip to Halong Bay and set off without any problems. Bus was full of tourists from all over the world, but the island was full of Canucks! Jodi met another articling student who was doing the same as us....small world.
The only thing that we can both say is that we had an amazing experience that we will surely not forget. We did a little kayaking and stayed on a private island in a beach hut made from bamboo. Before leaving we looked up the weather network which was predicting rain both days.....instead we had two of the hottest sunniest days they have had recently and we're sweating from every orifice....seriously!
Our host/guide on this trip was Tinh (Ocean Tours) and was a great guy. He was a very enthusiastic guy who took us on a hike that almost killed the two of us. We had some great food and made some new friends along the way. It was nice to leave the busy streets and never ending honking of Hanoi for soft waves crashing on the beach.
My (Dan) weight loss must be at 5 pounds already as I have already started pullig up my shorts every 20 minutes or so. People here laugh at how much I sweat and laugh when I talk about winters in Canada and Ice Hockey.
Jodi is really starting to relax and enjoy herself. She makes me do most of the talking to people as they seem to respomd a little better, the lawyer comes out of her sometimes!
We are so thankful for this experience but look forward to our departure from Hanoi tommorrow morning.
Off to Hue......more to come!
