Well, we're finally here and it's totally surreal! Our hotel is in a place called 'The Rocks' which is where the settles first um settled! We're right between the bridge and the Opera house. The first day we got here both of us kept laughing as we didn't really know what to say!
I guess we should go into a bit more depth about Hong Kong - felt a bit funny writing about the place while we were there in case anyone read what I was writing over my shoulder and didn't take kindly to what was being said!!!!
Right, thoughts about Hong Kong
1) Almost all Hong Kongers are very slim, hardley saw any chubby people, bought some sweets called Pokey and probably understand why as they were very expensive!
2) Lots of people wear t-shirts with random english words on e.g. 'The world is a stranger' or my particular fav 'oysters are best hot' (?????).
3) They love horse racing, everyone bets.
4) No one holds doors for you and if you hold the door for them don't expect a 'thank you'.
5) However despite point 4 they are very welcoming and friendly, I didn't feel the slightest bit
At nightAt nightAt night

Still very hot but that doesn't stop us posing!
vulnerable walking around at night, even in the underpass, we passed two young men who just nodded at us as they walked on.
6) Their accent can be VERY hard to understand and vice versa e.g. I asked for a pumpkin seed frappe and got a 'raspberry temptation', I really couldn't be arsed to argue the toss!
7) Air con is everywhere which is fab as it's sooooo hot!
8) Mostly everyone speaks english (see point 6!).
9) There are people on the street everywhere trying to get you to buy a made to measure suit or buy a watch.
10) There are lots of Mac Donalds and Starbucks (surprise surprise).
11) There are lots of shopping malls (didn't buy anything - are you impressed? Pick yourself up off the floor!)
12) The Victoria Harbour light show is very impressive - on everynight at 8.00. Lots of sky scrappers light up to music. It's the biggest nightly light show in the world!
