Hi folks!
yes we are still alive, sorry for the radio silence but I'll blame it on having too good a time and capricious internet connections...
Well, last you heard of us we had just been dolphin swimming - great - but we have seen more of the great things NZ has! We then left for Christchurch to meet up with our friends Tim and Les in their beautiful new house in Redcliffs on the hills off the Banks Peninsula, the only non flat bit on the Canterbury Plain.
tim and Les had left us their "Mu", ie their 4x4 and Scott had a great time driving it on the roads to Akaroa, a little village in the middle of the Banks Peninsula, which had been settled by ... the French at about the same time Christchurch was started, in the 1840's if I remember well...Scott was about 3 then!
We then went for a great cycle ride, although I dragged my feet at first but Scott motivated me, as only he can (?!). We got great views over the Plains to the North and Lyttleton Harbour which is actually the crater of an old volcano, yes,
another one...We cycled for a good 4 hours, to the "Sign of the kiwi", which is about as close as we got to one...
After that, we had to recover the following days and just went for little walks along Sumner beach and into Christchurch city centre. Tim and Les gave us a lift to Hanmer springs in the mountains on the way to Nelson, see the next installment.
Celine and Scott.

I've been to The Sign Of The Kiwi!!! Finally, something that I've seen in the land of the long white cloud. (Not to mention Tim and Les who I have obviously met!) Celine stuffing her face with ice cream - I've never seen that before!
