Yesterday I spent most of my time on a beach by the lake. My friend Jake and I rode a boat, which was free with our bus passes, as far as we could down the lake to find the beach. It was absolutely beautiful! The water was a little cold, but I adjusted to swimming quickly. One of the best things about this lake is swans are always swimming there. So I got to swim with swans! I was also very happy to find gelato near where the boats docked. yum!
In the evening, Brice, Jake, and I went to old town for the music festival. It was really crowded, and there were all different kinds of stages set up. We heard punk, salsa, and electro all within a few hundred yards from each other. Somehow in the crowd we lost Brice (apparently he saw a guy playing with fire and got distracted). It was impossible to find him again because the crowd was so large. Luckily, unlike Friday night, everyone made it back via public transportation to the hostel before the trains quit running!
It turns out a trip to Bern is 80 francs round trip, so I am thinking of staying in Geneva today and going hiking instead of going to see Einstein's apartment and the bears. I'll let you know how it works out!
