I will try to cram three days into one entry.

We took the hour bus trip north of Santiago and stayed in the port town of Valparaiso. This place is considered the cultural capital of Chile.

Valparaiso is an incredible town made up of 45 hills (cerros) and each one is a maze of colourful housing, restaurants and hand made craft stalls that stretch from the port right to the top of each cerro. Sonya and I spent our time here getting lost amongst the streets and vibe of this region.

In these hills we found the more famous house of Pablo Neruda. The house has been converted into a museum and you can walk around the four floors of his nautically designed home. Unfortunately we could not take any photos inside, but from front deck we were able to see the entirety of Valparaiso.

We also met some interesting locals, other back packers, ate great food, listened to incredible live music (Joy division covers in latin!). Sonya and I thorougly enjoyed our stay in Valparaiso.
