So Im just trying this whole travel blog thing out....I hope it works!

So for those of you who havent heard,or actually care, im going to Africa this summer!! This is honestly a dream come true (ahh i know its cliche), but it is true. I have NO clue what to expect, but im sure its gunna be one hell of a trip! I know it will be emotionally and physically challenging, but im going for a reason...i just need to figure out what that is. haha. Anyways, I leave here on June 6th to head to Tanzania for 5 weeks in the Kiliminjaro region right off the Indian ocean. I'll be there for three weeks with about 30 other people, where we will be volunteering in a village about 5 miles from the base of Mt. Kiliminjaro in Moshi.

Hopefully while im there, I'll do independent study through the New college at Alabama. Im going to be researching the lives of the Masai women and comparing their customs, tradition, and psychological behaviors to westernized women. whooo I hope this goes well...There are only two other 18 year olds and everyone else is between 20 and 60 I think.

Anyways, when the three weeks with the group is over, my mom is meeting me for two extra weeks to do touristy things throughout the country!
