Last day in San Francisco, Last day on the road, last blog entry! Apologies that its so short, no time on the internet left!
On Saturday we lived the longest day of our lives when we crossed the international date line- day started off by checking out at 10am and waiting for a flight at 10pm! Luckily we just lay on the beach all day, showered up and headed to the airport. The flight to LA was 10hours long arriving in LA before we'd even left Fiji, we managed to sleep a bit but a medical emergency on board had me distracted as i pictured landing in Hawaii to cope with it! (in typical american fashion) we had to go collect our bags and clear immigration before just walking to another part of the airport to catch our flight to San Fran. The queues for everything were sooo long. We arrived eventually and went straight to the hotel mum and dad paid for which was a well deserved break, popping out only to grab something for dinner.
Sunday morning we hit the cultural sights, booking our tour to Alcatraz and then walked miles around pier 39 and fisherman's wharf to see the sights eventually getting to golden gate bridge 3hours later! We also managed to get our cholestral checked along the way!! Luckily the weather was lovley and we made the most of it! We then headed downtown to see the Sex and the City movie which provided us with much inspiration for our shopping the next day!
Monday morning we hit the shops seriously. Parting ways at 10am and meeting up again at 3 we brought everything and anything our excuse being how much cheaper it is here! After a rendez vous to see what we'd brought we headed back out to get those last minute bits and bobs!! It really feels like a holiday! We went to the restaurant next to the hotel which was nice and our feet ached too much to head further afield!!
Tuesday morning we got up at the crack of dawn heading down to Pat's cafe for our usual big breakfast there before heading down to catch our boat to Alcatraz, another day of glorious sunshine! We walked around the cellhouse with the audio tour while being told stories of escapes and so on which was really interesting!! We then headed back down to union sq for a last shop and then onwards to Golden Gate Park in the late afternoon sunshine, complete with lots of crazy people! Out to washington sq for our last supper and then an early night!!
Today we've packed up for the last time, headed here to sort out photos etc before having a last lunch, to review and celebrate our trip!!
