Hasta Luego!Hasta Luego!Hasta Luego!

Living it... all the way!

Wandering the World, Wondering Wistfully Why We Wander, Wonder....

Ok, ok!

I guess it could just go on forever!

Whatever.

Am in Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand, the other side of the earth from Europe, waiting to see if the weather clears so that Alberto and I can jump out of a plane from 12000 feet or four kilometers, see the bottom of the earth from above, at 200 kilometers per hour... then hope that the parachute opens... ... ... ...

Don't ask why we want to do this... must be some sort of life challenge that I have down on my list of things to do in this life!

I'll worry about the next life when I get to it, rather do today than plan for a tomorrow that might just be different than expected, as all those forecast experts, in any field, seem to find out all too often!

After being in a Camper Van zigging and zagging our way through both islands, checking out the giant ferns, thinking of Fernie's every once in a while...

Here Goes!Here Goes!Here Goes!

Hope that chute will open!

Spring is not here!

It is Autumn, full of magnificent foliage fragrances and colors (I promise that I am spelling things the English way, the editor keeps red-lining my words!), views of incredible cloud shrouds over the rugged hills, steep Southern Alps and rolling fields dotted with big hairy cows, little woolly sheep (they become snow-white when sheared) and fine looking deer... and those are just a few of the wonderful sights of this gigantic, Switzerland with some extra special effects!

Special effects like glaciers visible from the road (you do have to look over the throngs of Asian tourists with their fancy cameras), sprouting boiling water geisers and mud-bathing holes, warm water coming out of the sand at the beach... just bring a shovel!

A huge country, almost no people!

Risked it a few times when we got to towns in the mountains, almost out of gas, only to find no gas-station, no town or everything closed at 5pm!

Driving for so many hours, with not even a radio station available, freed up plenty of thoughts as conversation was also reduced to phew! comments as the driver pitted all

his wits, concentration and skill to maneuvering the van around the narrow mountain roads and tight curves in the pouring rain.

Roads sometimes not even asphalted or with signs!

Funny how in moments like these of intense NOW time, the silliest anecdotes spring into mind... maybe to release tension!

Luckily, Alberto and I have known each other for years... we have done plenty of extremely intelligent and memorable deeds together... normally under the influences of some spirit or other... we were young...er!

In the quiet moments, some of the highlights of the past ten months managed to sneak into my present and I could look at them with some detachment and with a re-living fondness!

I am a lucky person, even if I have no clue who I am!

Everywhere, people have been special and the wonderful moments far outnumber the wonderempty ones!

Everybody has had some helpful hint, accurate advice, smiling smile and envious encouragement to give along the way!

Thank you!
